The main investigation question: How can we best protect our Koalas?
Setting the scene
The Australian Koala Foundation wants your help to develop an action plan to help people protect koalas that live in their backyards. Koalas live in the wild in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria and many of these live on privately owned land.
Guiding questions
Where are koalas found in my local area?
Why do they live in where they do?
How are they effected by people that live around them?
What can be done to help them survive? More detail
Example 2
The main investigation question: How can lower pollution levels be achieved in our environment?
Setting the Scene
The Murkyville Local Council has a problem with pollution in and around its town. You are part of a project team that is going to advise them on how to deal with the extensive range of problems they have. Draw on the experiences and situations in your own suburb or town to formulate recommendations.
Suggested Issues
It may be a vacant lot, litter, rubbish in a mangrove area, graffiti, erosion on a cleared block.
