Virtual Field Trips

Cultural Exchanges

Students share via e-mail list  web site information about lifestyle, local events and celebrations, customs, dress, language, school and work.

Teachers locate partners via the vft-teachers e-mail list then organise rap points for their students to discuss and share information.

Episodes might be one class- one class or involve multiple classes. If multiple classes are involved an e-mail list can be established.

Netdays Cultural Journey Into Australia

Rap Point Suggestions

Rap points are a series of questions that are posed to students to assist them share information and gain insight into the culture of a remote location.

Rap points should be designed to move students from lower order thinking to more in depth consideration of the task at hand. Bloom's taxonomy is a useful tool to ensure that questions are structured in such a manner.
