Step 4: Inquiry (Investigation) Based Learning Integrating the web with telecommunications
Tele-WebQuests
Telecommunications Web Based Learning Global Youth Forum Step 1 & 2 Use an e-mail list to share perspectives and information on the key questions associated with the topic. Encourage students to talk about their feelings, thoughts and ideas on the issue. Broaden the viewpoints by linking up with another class or school through the oz-TeacherNet network.
WebQuest Phase 1-Background
Global Youth Forum Step 3 Devise a preliminary hypothesis for the students to debate online. They should discuss the issue from the perspective of the role that they have been assigned.
e.g A Quest for Peace
Australia should not be interfering in what is an Indonesian internal matter because it will lead to instability in the region.
Logistical suggestions
Role teams could post their position on the issue as a homework exercise, with students taking turns to post on a daily basis.
WebQuest Phase 2- Looking Deeper from Different Perspectives 1. Individuals or pairs from your larger WebQuest team will explore one of the roles below.
WebQuest Phase 3-Debating, Discussing Invite a guest on line for students to discuss their conclusions and action plan
